New Delhi, Sep 27: The high stakes inheritance battle over the late Sunjay Kapur’s fortune, estimated at ₹30,000 crore, intensified on Friday at the Delhi High Court as Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapur, accused their stepmother, Priya Kapur, of attempting to manipulate their father’s will.
Represented by Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, the children claimed that Priya Kapur had already shifted key assets into her own name. “Confidentiality is a cloak under which you fritter away the assets,” Jethmalani argued, describing the alleged will as “bogus” and claiming the children had been left with nothing, while two bank accounts were emptied and a 6% company stake transferred to Priya.
Priya Kapur’s legal team, led by Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar, sought to maintain confidentiality, requesting that the asset details remain sealed and out of public view.
Samaira and Kiaan’s legal representatives stressed that the dispute is about fairness, not greed, highlighting the rights of minors in inheritance cases. Earlier clarifications noted that the children’s supposed stake in the ₹1,900-crore RK Trust, set up in Sunjay Kapur’s mother’s name, falls outside the scope of the current case.
The matter continues to unfold under intense scrutiny as the court weighs the claims over one of India’s most high-profile estates.
