Sutherland, Jan 14 : Hollywood was abuzz this week following the arrest of actor Kiefer Sutherland over an alleged assault on a ride share driver. The Emmy winning star, best known for his iconic role as Jack Bauer in the hit TV series ’24’, reportedly made criminal threats during the incident.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday at approximately 12:15 a.m., near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood. Authorities stated that Sutherland allegedly assaulted the driver, though the driver was not physically injured.
The case is under active investigation by the LAPD’s Hollywood Division, which continues to probe the events inside the vehicle.

Following the incident, the 59 year old actor was arrested and later released on a $50,000 bond (around £37,000). Police records indicate that Sutherland is scheduled to appear in court on February 2. No further legal details have been disclosed at this time.

Sutherland, a dual British Canadian citizen, comes from a prominent acting family. He is the son of legendary actor Donald Sutherland and actress Shirley Douglas.
