Kishtwar, 15-12-2020: With the successful completion of the previous phases of the DDC/Panchayat by-election, District administration under the supervision of District Panchayat Election Officer Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today dispatched 53 polling parties to their respective polling stations for smooth conduct of DDC/Pyt By-Elections under Phase -Vll to be held on 16-12-2020.

DEO Kishtwar Masood Ahmed Bichoo, ALC Kishtwar Anoop Kumar, BDO Mughal Maidan Arun Kumar Badyal, Tehsildar Drabshalla Arun Kumar Sharma, BDO Drabshalla Sobia Fatima shad, ARTO Kishtwar Er. Kuldeep Singh, AD FCS&CA Kishtwar Gh. Rasool lone, ENT Kishtwar Angrez Singh Jasrotia, Nodal Officer Ballot Boxes Arjun Singh, Inspector MVD Sanjeev Parihar besides Zonal & Sector Magistrate’s, Micro- Observers and other officers remained present on the occasion.
The 53 polling parties which were dispatched amid tight security and other logistics arrangements included 27 parties for Drabshalla-A and 26 polling parties for Drabshalla-B DDC Constituencies.
It is pertinent to mention here that 10 candidates are in the fray for Drabshalla-A DDC constituency and 07 candidates are contesting for Drabshalla-B DDC constituency.
Besides, by-election for 01 vacant Sarpanch seats in Drabshalla A and in Drabshalla B the bypolls for 01 vacant panch seat is going to be held tomorrow.
Whereas the candidates for 02 vacant panch seats in Drabshalla A viz in wards Londri and Tatani have already been declared elected unopposed.
In this phase, a total of 13,090 voters are registered for Drabshalla-A DDC constituency and a total of 9,434 voters are registered for Drabshalla-B DDC Constituency.
DPEO kishtwar informed that the administration has made all the necessary security and logistics arrangements to ensure free, fair, and transparent conduct of Elections.
He further appealed to contesting candidates and govt employees to refrain from violating MCC guidelines.
