Abdul Haq Khan Rejoins PDP as Mehbooba Mufti Welcomes Him Back to the Party

Ex-Minister Abdul Haq Khan Makes a Comeback to PDP After Two-Year Break

Srinagar, Aug 20: Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Abdul Haq Khan has rejoined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday, ending a two-year break from the party. Khan, who previously served as the minister for rural development, panchayati raj, and law and justice in the PDP-BJP coalition, had distanced himself from the party following the collapse of the state government in 2018.

Khan’s return to the PDP was marked by a visit from party chief Mehbooba Mufti, who met him at his residence due to his ill health, according to a party leader. Khan was a prominent figure in the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly, representing the Lolab constituency in Kupwara district, securing victories in both the 2008 and 2014 elections.
