ACADEMIC BRILLIANCE WITH SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

It’s true that the student population is undergoing a massively complex era. They are under tremendous pressure from so many directions. The student is given a kind of very limited perspective from the very first day of school. He or she must outperform the competition. They learn that survival depends on doing well in the race of life. They are actually given the limited idea that there is competition everywhere. Children from the same neighbourhood used to walk together to school at one point. On the journey, they conversed with one another about a range of age-appropriate subjects. They occasionally made fun of one another. They occasionally had disagreements about silly things. It used to be fairly customary during school hours to linger here and there in search of seasonal fruits. Visiting the maternal uncle’s house or hearing grandmother’s stories while on vacation did, in fact, give colour and pleasure to life. Boys and girls from the same neighbourhood gathered after school and played together, spending quality time. They were quite joyful. The entire family gathered in the prayer home in the evening to pray together. There was, in fact, a perfect, cosy atmosphere. The family members cherished and respected one another. As a result, from an early age, children of the households learned morality, value judgement, and culture. The youngsters weren’t under any kind of pressure. They enjoyed their youth as they grew up. They enjoyed every aspect of life.

Today, however, a completely different situation exists. The majority of children are not permitted to interact with children of similar age from the same neighbourhood. On the other hand, some parents restrict their children from mixing with other children in the same neighbourhood due to economic inequalities or other petty concerns, while others restrict it due to safety concerns. Nowadays, in many villages, playgrounds are turning into isolated grasslands. The majority of children are required to stay inside after school. Their sole companion is the smartphone. They are not aware of the events taking place around them. They don’t care about their neighbours or their community. In reality, it appears that avoiding human society has grown fashionable in modern times. The academically gifted group tends to become overly career-focused over time. They go for private coaching after school. After returning home, they resume their study schedule. They simply pursue grades and positions. In the past, passing scores on high secondary exams were deemed to be 60% or higher. But these days, no one is interested in such marks. Students in such category are normally overlooked in society today, even in their own families. Consider the difficulty that 60 per cent of category students must overcome. As a result, everyone today strives for high grades, and among the students, a natural rivalry develops. They are forced to do this because stress turns them into machines and robs them of all happiness and delight in life. It’s really too bad that the majority of them don’t have time for relatives or family. They are a long way from their group of friends. They are entirely ignorant of what is going on around them. It is evident that the majority of them lack morals, humanity, moral judgement, and social responsibility. Most of these sections are quite self-centred and narrow-minded because of the mentality of competing to be the greatest and receive the best score. Being competitive or becoming more business-focused is never a bad thing. It is accurate and needs to be accepted.

Therefore, learning moral education and the knowledge necessary to be a good person should come first. Being a nice person, though, is something entirely different and authentic. One should make an effort to learn from all of their experiences and put that knowledge to good use. It goes without saying that a student’s main responsibility is to study.  However, they should also work to cultivate all the traits that make people human and essential to life. They should cultivate patriotism within themselves in addition to intellectual accomplishment. A real ornament is an academic brilliance combined with social responsibility. They ought to adopt a mentality of selfless service to the common people. In reality, they need to make an effort to give back to society and contribute to building the country.
