ADGP Chairs Security Review Meeting in Jammu Ahead of Shri Amarnath Yatra

27-04-2023 : A security review meeting was held in Jammu on Thursday, chaired by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Mukesh Singh, in preparation for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage.

The meeting was attended by top officials from various security and intelligence agencies to discuss the management of the pilgrimage and emergency response plans. Singh emphasized the importance of coordination among all agencies involved in ensuring a smooth and incident-free yatra.

This year’s pilgrimage is set to begin on July 1 and end on August 31. The ADGP held a detailed discussion with officers from the Central Reserve Police Force, police, and intelligence agencies regarding the current security situation and possible threats to the yatra.

During the meeting, issues raised by the DIG CRPF and Commandant were addressed by the Civil Administration and District SSPs. The ADGP stressed the need for proper coordination among all agencies involved in their respective districts and areas of responsibility. The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, was requested to take immediate action on certain issues raised by CRPF Commandants to avoid any inconvenience caused to troops being deployed for the yatra.
