08-12-2023 : Top police and administration officials convened a meeting on Friday, chaired by Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) for Jammu and Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, to deliberate on “law and order” concerns in anticipation of the Supreme Court’s forthcoming verdict on the Article 370 case. The Jammu and Kashmir Police have emphasized that strict measures will be implemented against those engaging in mischief or misusing social media platforms.
This marked the first joint meeting of all district magistrates and senior superintendents of police in the Kashmir division at PCR Kashmir. The attendees included the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, IGP Kashmir, Deputy Director of the Intelligence Bureau, DIGs from various ranges in Kashmir, DIG-CID, and SSP, PCR Kashmir. During the session, officers provided updates on the current law and order situation and potential events arising from the impending verdict. District heads were instructed to stay vigilant and take necessary actions to prevent and address any disturbances to peace.
