AYODHYA, Sep 8: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday visited Ayodhya, offering prayers at Hanumangarhi Temple and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex during his daylong tour of the temple town.
According to a government statement, Adityanath performed rituals at Hanumangarhi Temple. He also distributed appointment letters to newly recruited anganwadi workers and helpers as part of his visit.
Later, the chief minister reached the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex, where he was received by newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal (retd) Jeetendra Mishra. Adityanath offered prayers at the temple during his visit.
Mishra arrived in Ayodhya shortly before the chief minister and held introductory meetings with officials and other stakeholders.
Speaking to reporters after his arrival, Mishra said he would soon share his plans and priorities for his new role.
“Introductory meetings are currently underway. Very soon, I will come before you and talk about my future plans,” he said.
Mishra had earlier served as the head of the Indian Air Force’s Western Air Command and was associated with Operation Sindoor.
His appointment as CEO of the Ram Temple Trust followed a meeting of trust officials in Ayodhya on September 2.
In a series of organisational changes, former trust treasurer Govind Dev Giri was appointed the new general secretary. Delhi-based Mahesh Bhagchandka, CEO of the M2K Group and associated with the RSS and VHP, was named treasurer.
Bhagchandka was also inducted as a new trustee along with Madan Mohan Pandey of Ayodhya and Nirmala Yadav of Shikohabad.
The leadership changes come as the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple administration continues to strengthen its organisational structure and prepare for its upcoming responsibilities.
