JAMMU, JANUARY 16: ‘Sports is integral to the curriculum which help in building healthy mind and body thus ensuring overall personality development of youth”, stated Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan while speaking at the valedictory function of 26th Men freestyle, Greco-Roman style, and 12th Women wrestling championship organized by J&K Wrestling Association here today.
Advisor said that the UT administration is committed to provide the best avenues and infrastructure to sportspersons so as to channelize their energy towards a positive direction. He said that such events provide an appropriate platform for players to exhibit their sports potential besides polishing it further.
He lauded the role of organizers in conducting such sports activities in Jammu and Kashmir which are significant towards encouraging young talents to participate in such competitions and make a name for themselves and the UT and Nation as well.
While presenting awards to the winners in different categories, Advisor motivated the young generation to participate in sports and extracurricular activities and stressed the need to create bigger platforms for young sportsmen to display their talent and skills besides promoting the local talent at a higher level.
