After Deepika, Prakash Raj Reportedly Exits Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’ — Here’s Why

Unconfirmed reports suggest the veteran actor stepped away following script disagreements makers yet to respond.

Mumbai, Feb 09 : Reports indicate that actor Prakash Raj is no longer associated with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, adding to the project’s recent casting turbulence. The development comes months after Deepika Padukone reportedly withdrew from the film over differences regarding work schedules.

Prakash Raj was believed to be playing a significant character, and his voiceover in the launch announcement had already generated curiosity among fans. However, fresh reports claim the actor has stepped away from the project, which is presently being shot in Hyderabad.

Industry buzz suggests the exit followed a disagreement between the actor and the director over elements of the script, including a particular scene. There are also claims that certain on set incidents may have strained relations with the production team, ultimately leading to the decision. Neither the filmmakers nor Prakash Raj have issued an official statement, leaving the situation unverified.

If the reports prove accurate, scenes already filmed with the actor may need to be reshot, potentially affecting the production timeline.

The film continues to attract attention for multiple reasons. Earlier speculation had pointed to Deepika Padukone as the preferred choice for the female lead before Triptii Dimri came on board.

Announced with a striking first look poster, Spirit stars Prabhas in what is expected to be an intense role, reportedly that of a police officer, while Triptii Dimri is said to portray his romantic partner. The cast also includes Vivek Oberoi and Kanchana.

Backed by T-Series, the high-profile project is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on March 5, 2027.
