Jammu, 07-04-2024 : As campaigning intensifies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) General Secretary, K C Venugopal, delved into a comprehensive review of the party’s organizational activities and readiness for the Udhampur and Jammu Lok Sabha seats. In a virtual meeting held on Sunday, Venugopal engaged with AICC coordinators, former MLCs, and senior leaders Ravinder Sharma and Naresh Gupta to assess the progress of the election campaign in the Jammu region’s two constituencies.
The focus of the review centered on evaluating the coordination among various party units and alliance partners to ensure a robust campaign in support of Choudhary Lal Singh, the candidate for Udhampur-Kathua, and Raman Bhalla, contesting from Jammu-Reasi.
Feedback provided during the meeting highlighted the effective coordination among party units and the positive reception from constituents, indicating a strong desire for change in both constituencies. It was emphasized that there is a growing disillusionment among the populace with the BJP and its policies.
Additionally, the AICC coordinators briefed Venugopal on the implementation of the door-to-door campaign aimed at disseminating Congress’s promises outlined in the “Nyay Patar” to the electorate. This grassroots approach seeks to address the concerns of various segments of society, including farmers, youth, women, and laborers, while also ensuring justice for marginalized communities such as SCs, STs, and OBCs.
Ravinder Sharma and Naresh Gupta highlighted the significant features of the Congress manifesto, emphasizing its relevance and resonance among the electorate. The manifesto’s 25 guarantees, encompassing a wide range of socio-economic issues, have garnered significant attention and support, reflecting the party’s commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of the people.
The virtual review session underscored the Congress’s strategic approach and commitment to engaging with voters on key issues, aiming to secure their trust and support in the upcoming elections.
