MUMBAI, Sept 10: Actor Ajay Devgn has expressed his desire for Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and filmmaker Jeethu Joseph to watch the upcoming Hindi third instalment of the crime thriller franchise and share their feedback.
Devgn, who reprises the role of Vijay Salgaonkar in the Hindi adaptation, said the team has worked extensively on the script to give the new film a distinct conclusion rather than simply following the storyline of the Malayalam version.
The actor said he would value the opinion of Mohanlal and Joseph because of their association with the original franchise.
Developing the third chapter has been a challenging process, Devgn said, revealing that the team has spent around two and a half years working on the screenplay.
Unlike the original Malayalam franchise, the Hindi film is being developed with a completely different storyline and is intended to bring the Hindi adaptation to a conclusive ending.
The decision to take a separate narrative route is expected to add a fresh dimension to the popular crime thriller series while retaining the central characters and the suspense driven tone that have defined the earlier films.
The first two Hindi instalments, starring Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu, were successful with audiences and established the franchise as one of Bollywood’s prominent crime thriller series.
The upcoming film has generated considerable interest among fans, particularly because of the decision to create an independent conclusion rather than directly replicate the Malayalam story.
