Ajaz Khan Faces FIR in Indore After Sharing Fake Post, Actor Issues Public Apology

Crime Branch questions actor for three hours over misleading claims linked to gangster Salman Lala’s death

Mumbai, Nov 17 : Actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan began his Saturday with a public apology outside the Indore Crime Branch, acknowledging that a video he had shared online was based on misinformation.

Addressing the media, Ajaz said he deleted the video immediately after realising his error. “Mujhe galat fehmi ho gayi thi… I had no knowledge at all. Kuch influencers ke messages aaye… it was a mistake,” he said. He added that he respected the law, had handed over his phone to officers, and was cooperating fully with the investigation.

Why the FIR Was Filed

The Indore Crime Branch confirmed that an FIR was registered against Ajaz Khan for allegedly spreading fake and objectionable content. The case relates to a video he posted after the death of gangster Salman Lala, in which Ajaz questioned the circumstances of Lala’s drowning and hinted at religious targeting claims the police have firmly denied.

Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya said the video contained serious allegations, prompting legal action. Ajaz spent around three hours at the Crime Branch office as part of the inquiry. “Legal action has been taken as per procedure,” Dandotiya stated.

Repeat Trouble Over Online Posts

This isn’t Ajaz Khan’s first brush with controversy tied to his social media activity. Earlier this year, he faced another FIR for allegedly posting offensive and defamatory content against a YouTuber and his family, including obscene gestures and false accusations.

In October, the Delhi High Court granted him anticipatory bail in that case, requiring a ₹30,000 bond and one surety while noting the seriousness of the charges.
