Pune, Jan 28 : Photographs from Baramati on Wednesday morning document the grim aftermath of the aircraft accident that claimed the lives of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others.
The private Learjet 45, commonly used for VIP travel, went down while attempting to land near Baramati, roughly an hour after departing from Mumbai. Authorities said the passengers included Pawar, his personal security officer, an aide, and two flight crew members. There were no survivors.
Images from the site show dense smoke and flames billowing from the wreckage, with mangled debris scattered across the ground. Emergency responders and security personnel were seen securing the area as ambulances moved in and out of the cordoned zone.
Local residents gathered near the site shortly after the crash, watching in stunned silence as rescue and recovery operations continued.
