Akasa Air Pune–Bengaluru Flight Grounded After Technical Snag, Passengers Deplaned

Passengers remained seated for over an hour before being asked to disembark; airline cites operational reasons for delay

Mumbai, Jan 13: Akasa Air on Tuesday deplaned passengers from its Pune–Bengaluru flight after a technical issue was detected in the aircraft shortly before departure, sources said.

The flight, operated by a Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, was scheduled to depart from Pune at 8.50 am. Boarding began around 8.10 am, and passengers were seated inside the aircraft for nearly one-and-a-half hours before being asked to disembark.

A passenger on board told PTI that the aircraft was preparing for take-off when a technical glitch was reported at the last moment.

“Passengers had boarded the aircraft and the flight was getting ready for departure when some technical issue was reported. After waiting inside the aircraft for a long time, all passengers were eventually deplaned,” the passenger said.

In a message sent to passengers, Akasa Air said flight QP 1312 was delayed due to operational reasons. The airline informed that the rescheduled departure time was 1.15 pm.

There was no immediate comment from the airline on the nature of the technical issue.
