New Delhi, Jan 12 : Paying tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary, Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav said that Vivekananda’s name itself is a timeless message a call for inner discernment (‘vivek’) to attain bliss (‘anand’) and liberation from mental slavery.
“Reaching the state of bliss through wisdom is the essence of Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of life, guiding humanity towards inner freedom,” Akhilesh Yadav said.
In a social media post on Monday, he elaborated that wisdom is not merely external knowledge but a consciousness that awakens within one’s conscience. True understanding emerges when a person resists becoming a mental slave to others’ ideas and decides between truth and falsehood based on personal insight.
The SP president added that Vivekananda’s message inspires individuals to think critically and independently, helping society recognise hypocrisy, deceit, selfishness, and hidden lies behind outward appearances and deceptive rhetoric.
He further emphasised that Swami Vivekananda’s compassion and message of universal brotherhood remain as relevant today as ever. “May his guidance continue to bear fruit in society,” Yadav said.
Akhilesh Yadav urged people to let inner wisdom and understanding, not mere external knowledge, guide life, encouraging more individuals to follow Vivekananda’s teachings and cultivate true discernment.
