Akhilesh Yadav Promises Withdrawal of All Alleged Fake Cases Against Azam Khan if SP Returns to Power

Akhilesh Yadav hails Azam Khan’s release, reiterates his commitment to social justice and fight against BJP oppression

Following the release of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mohammad Azam Khan from jail on Tuesday, SP president Akhilesh Yadav assured that all alleged false cases against him would be withdrawn if the party returns to power in Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing the media, Yadav stated, “The BJP, the Rampur MLA, and a retired officer who is receiving repeated extensions will not be allowed to commit injustice. Today is a happy day for all of us, and we hope that all cases against Azam Khan will be dismissed in the near future.”

Responding to rumours of Azam Khan joining the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Yadav clarified, “Azam Khan is with the Samajwadi Party’s founder, Netaji, and with us. The SP has been opposing the BJP for decades, not just today.”

In a post on X, Yadav expressed relief over Khan’s release, calling it a moment of joy for Khan, his family, and everyone who believes in justice. “Those who file false cases have learned that every lie has its limits, and so does every conspiracy. The BJP never appreciates leaders who represent social harmony,” he wrote.

He further highlighted that Azam Khan will continue to stand with marginalized and oppressed sections, raising his voice against repression and advocating for social justice, upholding socialist values and unity.

The assurance comes amid speculation that Khan might join the BSP during Mayawati’s rally in Lucknow scheduled for October 9, which Yadav firmly dismissed.
