Akhilesh Yadav Slams CM Over Silence on BJP’s Offensive Trolling of His Daughter

SP chief condemns silence over abusive social media posts, party files cyber complaints and demands strict action

Lucknow, June 11 : Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has expressed strong objection to what he called the state government’s silence over derogatory online posts targeting his daughter, sparking a fresh political controversy in Uttar Pradesh.

While several users on social media condemned the abusive trolling, Akhilesh Yadav questioned why the Chief Minister had not responded to the issue, alleging that the posts were linked to supporters of the ruling BJP. His remarks have intensified the political exchange between the ruling party and the opposition.

Following the incident, SP workers lodged complaints with cyber cells in Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Ballia, demanding action against those responsible for the online abuse. Party members also announced rewards for information leading to the identification of the individuals behind the posts.

Akhilesh Yadav, reacting to media queries, alleged that certain political elements were being encouraged to target opposition leaders’ families through social media. He questioned whether such behaviour reflected an acceptable political culture and criticised the state leadership for not intervening.

“Is it right to drag family members into political attacks?” he asked, adding that silence from those in authority raises serious questions.

The controversy has triggered widespread criticism online, with many users calling the trolling unacceptable and highlighting concerns over rising digital abuse in political discourse.

Within SP circles, the incident is being viewed as an attempt to divert attention from recent allegations raised by the party regarding financial irregularities linked to donations for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
