Amit envisions AI as the future of Governance in ET DigiTech Conclave & Awards 2025

New Delhi, Mar 18, 2025: Amit Sharma, Secretary to Government, Information, Communications & Technology (ICT) and Cooperation Departments, Government of Mizoram, today participated in the 5th edition of DigiTech Conclave and Awards 2025 held in New Delhi today as a keynote speaker, in which he termed Artificial Intelligence as the founding pillar of future governance models.

Amit Sharma, Secretary ICT & Cooperation, Mizoram, was invited to share his perspectives as a national expert of the eGovernance domain, figuring among the key shapers of the Digital India Movement in different states/UTs in India. He shared his vision on AI and emerging technologies, which are being elaborately covered under the “India AI Mission” led by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

Amit while attending this Conclave expressed that there is an urgent need to organize these kinds of Awareness Conclaves and Programmes in North Eastern and Hilly States to remove the technology disconnect and inhibitions of the public here and also disclosed that he has been constantly working towards ensuring same so that they come under the umbrella of the maximum e-Governance reforms bracket.

In this important eGovernance National-level Conclave organized by ET Group, Secretary ICT & Cooperation Mizoram Amit Sharma shared various perspectives, views, experiences and insights on various Government innovative initiatives in emerging technologies like AI certification for government employees, BHASHINI (National Language Translation Mission), State-of-the-Art Data Centre, Global Capability Centres and many more.

Earlier, in this important panel discussion on the topic “Digital Governance: Innovation and Skill Development in AI and Emerging Technologies,” other keynote speakers apart from Secretary ICT Mizoram Amit Sharma and Additional Secretary MeitY Abhishek Singh gave a detailed perspective about the AI Mission of the Government and future targets. NICSI MD Dr Rajesh Kumar Mishra talked about various initiatives being taken by them to introduce AI interventions. DG NIELET Dr Madan Mohan Tripathi talked about the deemed status of the institute with spread all across the nation with courses being offered from school to the highest level, CEO of Digital India Bhashini Division shared important thoughts of Large Language Model with AI support.  ET Group expressed special gratitude to Amit Sharma for coming all the way from North-East and sharing his perspectives and vision on this all-important Artifiial Intelligence-related session in ET DigiTech Conclave and Awards 2025 and also honoured him wherein all domain experts shared their views along with giving awards to the top initiatives in the eGovernance domain.
