JAMMU, Feb 9: Security forces have stepped up search-and-cordon operations in the Chatroo region of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district under Operation Trashi-I, which has been ongoing for more than three weeks.
Personnel of the 7 Assam Rifles are carrying out sustained and intensive searches in dense forest areas, acting on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists hiding in the region. The operation was launched to neutralise militant threats and prevent their movement across the difficult terrain.
Officials said the troops are maintaining a high level of vigilance as the search continues, with the aim of ensuring security and restoring normalcy in the area.
