“Anupam Kher Gets Nostalgic as ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla 2’ Begins, Marks 550 Films in Cinema”

Veteran actor calls himself at the “interval point” of his career, expresses gratitude as he begins shooting for his milestone 550th film.

Mumbai: Veteran actor Anupam Kher turned nostalgic on the first day of shooting for his 550th film, Khosla Ka Ghosla 2, reflecting on a cinematic journey marked by struggle, perseverance, and gratitude.

Recalling a memorable moment from the Cannes Film Festival last year, Kher shared how an international filmmaker described him as the “Marathon Man of Indian cinema” after learning about the number of films he has acted in.

Taking to Instagram, the actor revisited the day he arrived in Mumbai on June 3, 1981, with nothing but dreams. “As I start my 550th film, my heart is filled with gratitude and thankfulness. When I landed in Mumbai, I never imagined reaching this landmark,” he wrote.

Despite the milestone, Kher said he considers this phase merely an “interval point” in his life and career. “I genuinely feel I have so much more to give. Dreams have no expiry date,” he added, as he prepared to give his first shot for the film in Delhi.

Sharing the secret behind his longevity, the actor credited his optimism, never-give-up attitude, and hard work as his greatest strengths. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to filmmakers, co-actors, technicians, and audiences for their unwavering support over the years.

“Without your love and support, reaching this landmark would never have been possible. A big heartfelt thank you,” Kher wrote, signing off with “Jai Ho! Jai Hind! Om Namah Shivay!”
