MUMBAI, Sep 14: Producer Anupriya Nagar has opened up about the difficult journey behind Hanuman Ansh, revealing that she put her savings into the project despite facing financial hurdles during production.
The spiritual drama, inspired by the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, has emerged as an unexpected theatrical success, crossing the Rs 200 crore mark, according to recent reports.
Nagar, who became involved with the project at a young age, said the film’s journey was far from straightforward. She described its eventual success as a deeply meaningful experience and attributed much of the turnaround to what she considers the blessings and spiritual influence of Neem Karoli Baba.
The producer’s journey has attracted considerable attention because of her age and the scale of the film’s commercial performance. She has previously spoken about how her interest in the spiritual figure developed while she was studying economics in the UK.
Hanuman Ansh was released across India in August and has continued to draw audiences weeks after its theatrical debut. Nagar’s experience has also highlighted how a modestly made, faith driven project can find a substantial audience through word of mouth and strong audience engagement.
