VIJAYAWADA, Feb 19: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Thursday continued deliberations on the State budget, with members largely endorsing the government’s financial strategy centred on sectoral expansion and balanced development.
During the discussion on AP Budget Sectoral Growth, Jaggampeta MLA Jyothula Nehru welcomed the decision to divide Andhra Pradesh into growth zones aimed at accelerating industrial and agricultural progress. He appreciated enhanced allocations for farming and irrigation, while pressing for establishment of degree colleges in every mandal and speedy completion of pending drinking water schemes. He described the financial plan as confidence-building for citizens.
Kurupam MLA Tooduku Jagadeeswari said the fiscal blueprint was crafted to uplift millions and restore economic stability in a State burdened by debt. She lauded the administration for steering development despite fiscal constraints.
Vijayawada West MLA YS Chowdary underscored alignment between the State and Central leadership in pursuing the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. He highlighted measures supporting cultivators, suggested boosting revenue through mining, corporations and alternative sources, and advocated learning from successful models in other States to bridge the revenue gap.
Kadapa MLA Reddappagari Madhavi Reddy stated that the allocations aim to ensure inclusive benefits across communities. She criticised earlier policies for triggering financial strain and praised funding earmarked for school education and horticulture advancement in Rayalaseema.
Kothapeta MLA Bandaru Satyananda Rao said the budget signals a shift toward stability and growth, commending debt restructuring efforts and welfare priorities. Tadepalligudem MLA Bolisetti Srinivas described the Rs 3.32 lakh crore outlay as fiscally prudent and forward looking. He assured timely payments to farmers for produce and credited Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for strengthening local self governance institutions.
As the Assembly debate progresses, members continue to seek constituency focused allocations while reiterating support for the broader agenda of AP Budget Sectoral Growth.
