Mumbai, Nov 12 : Apple has launched a new limited-edition accessory for iPhone users the iPhone Pocket a luxury “sock” designed in collaboration with Japanese fashion label Issey Miyake. The product draws inspiration from Apple’s early 2000s iPod Socks but reimagines them in a sleek, modern, and high end design that’s as much about style as it is about function.
A Luxury Throwback with a Modern Twist
The iPhone Pocket is made from a 3D-knitted stretchable fabric that snugly fits around the iPhone. The fabric expands slightly, allowing users to glance at their screens without fully removing the phone. Apple describes it as a “wearable pocket,” combining practicality with a fashion-forward edge.
Unlike the original iPod Socks which came in a six-pack for $29 the iPhone Pocket is anything but budget friendly. The short strap version costs $149.95 (around ₹12,900), while the long-strap variant is priced at $229.95 (around ₹20,300).
Designed by Issey Miyake Studio
The accessory has been crafted by Issey Miyake’s design studio, the same team that created Steve Jobs’ iconic black turtleneck. The design embodies Miyake’s signature minimalism and focus on functional, wearable textiles.
The iPhone Pocket can be styled in multiple ways worn over the shoulder, on the wrist, or attached to a handbag. It’s available in vibrant colors like lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black for the short strap, while the longer version is available in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.
Limited Availability
Apple has confirmed that the iPhone Pocket is a limited edition release, available only in select regions including the US, UK, France, Italy, Japan, China, Singapore, and South Korea. Stocks are expected to be limited, with select Apple Stores displaying the accessory for in person viewing.
For Apple enthusiasts, the iPhone Pocket is perhaps the quirkiest and most luxurious way to protect their device, combining nostalgia, fashion, and exclusivity in true Apple style.
