Army Defuses Rusted Mortar Shell in Kathua, J&K

JAMMU, Sep 17: Security forces on Wednesday safely defused a rusted mortar shell discovered in a forward village near the International Border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The shell was spotted by villagers in an open field at Bobiya in the Hiranagar sector earlier in the day. The locals immediately alerted the authorities.

A bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot and successfully defused the explosive device, ensuring no harm to life or property.
