From Canvas to Mountains: Skyview by Empyrean’s Art Retreat Wraps Up with a Stunning Exhibition Highlighting Jammu’s Beauty

Jammu: August 26:With a colorful and motivating display, Skyview by Empyrean, a 22-acre upscale mountain retreat in the Sanget-Patnitop area, recently wrapped off the second iteration of the Sama-Vaya art retreat. Eight gifted artists and crafters from all across India came together for this retreat, which provided them with a four-day residence and a rare chance to explore and express their creative visions among the region’s spectacular natural splendor.

The exhibition, held on August 25, 2024, showcased the diverse and dynamic artworks created by the participants, including Lado Bai (known for Bhil art), Kritika Joshi (renowned for Phad painting), Saroj Shyam (specializing in Gond painting), and contemporary artists Rachita Dutta, Rachna Badrakia, Neha Lavingia, Suman Gupta, and Sohan Singh Billawaria. Their individual and collaborative pieces reflected their personal interpretations of Jammu’s landscapes and the luxurious setting of Skyview by Empyrean.

The event was graced by notable art lovers, collectors, and distinguished personalities from the worlds of film and theatre, such as Rajit Kapur, Shernaz Patel, Anahita Uberoi, and Sohrab Ardeshir. Their presence added prestige to the retreat and exhibition, further enriching the cultural experience.

During their stay, the artists engaged in collaborative efforts and exchanged creative ideas, drawing inspiration from the serene environment of Skyview by Empyrean. The retreat provided a platform for the artists to explore various forms of artistic expression and to create works that captured the essence of their surroundings. The resulting artworks were a testament to the artists’ diverse backgrounds and their ability to merge traditional and contemporary techniques.

Skyview by Empyrean, located in one of the most scenic spots of the Sanget-Patnitop region, provides unobstructed views of the majestic Pir Panjal range and is just an hour’s drive from the renowned Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple at Katra.
