New Delhi : Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker took to social media to congratulate Shah Rukh Khan after the superstar received the Best Actor National Award for his performance in Jawan. Gowariker, known for classics like Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar, and Swades, praised SRK’s dedication to cinema and reflected on their shared journey in the film industry.
In an emotional post, Gowariker wrote, “What a journey we have had… each carving our own way, and today, to meet again on this special stage, the highest award in our country, to honour your extraordinary talent! Congratulations, Shah.” He also shared a photo with Shah Rukh from the National Awards ceremony held in Delhi.
The bond between the two actors is well remembered from their collaboration in Swades (2004), a film that remains one of SRK’s most powerful performances and had also won two National Awards for Best Cinematography and Best Male Playback Singer.
Shah Rukh Khan was formally honoured with the Rajat Kamal award by President Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This year, he shared the Best Actor award with Vikrant Massey, recognized for his performance in 12th Fail. The ceremony also celebrated close friends and colleagues, including Karan Johar and Rani Mukerji, who won awards that evening.
Since the announcement in August, Shah Rukh has expressed gratitude through an emotional video message, thanking his fans, colleagues, and the government for the recognition. Gowariker’s public congratulation adds to the outpouring of admiration for the actor from across the country.
