J&K, Feb 17 : The J&K Assembly obituary tribute was observed on Tuesday as members of the Legislative Assembly paid respects to former minister Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah during the ongoing session in Jammu.
Speaker Abdur Rahim Rather made an obituary reference in the House, after which legislators stood in silence for two minutes to honour the departed leader.
Condolences were also expressed over the demise of Brij Mohan Sharma, former Member of the Legislative Council and Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference’s Jammu Province unit. Members conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family, praying for peace to the departed soul and strength to his loved ones during the time of loss.
The House collectively acknowledged the contributions of both leaders to public life and governance in the Union Territory.
