Automatic Ticket Vending Machines Installed at Five Railway Stations Across Jammu Division

New ATVMs aim to ease congestion and promote cashless ticketing for passengers during the festive rush.

JAMMU, Oct 22: Indian Railways has installed Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) at five major railway stations in the Jammu division to improve passenger convenience and reduce queues during the festive season, officials said on Wednesday.

The ATVMs have been set up at Pathankot Cantonment, Pathankot City, Jammu, Shahid Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur), and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra stations.

Officials said the machines are equipped with a user friendly touchscreen interface that allows passengers to quickly purchase unreserved and platform tickets without waiting in long lines. The system operates 24×7 and supports multiple languages for ease of use.

The ATVMs accept digital payments, including UPI and other cashless methods, ensuring faster and safer transactions. Passengers using Railway Smart Cards will also receive a 3% bonus value on every recharge.

“By promoting the use of ATVMs, unnecessary crowding at stations can be controlled, creating a safer and more convenient travel experience,” said Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal.

The Railways has urged passengers to take advantage of the new facility for a seamless, cashless, and hassle-free journey.
