Avaada Electro Begins Roadshows for ₹7,600-Crore IPO, Eyes India Listing by Year-End

Brookfield backed solar equipment maker plans fresh share issue and offer for sale as it prepares for a major public market debut.

NEW DELHI, Sept 25: Brookfield backed solar equipment manufacturer Avaada Electro has begun investor roadshows for a proposed ₹7,600-crore initial public offering, marking a significant step towards its planned stock market debut in India before the end of 2026.

According to people familiar with the matter, the company is targeting an IPO of about $793 million, although the final size and timing could change depending on market conditions and the company’s updated financial results. The proposed issue is expected to include a fresh share sale of around ₹1,600 crore, while the remaining portion would comprise an offer for sale by Avaada Ventures.

The proposed listing comes at a time when India’s primary market is seeing sustained activity, with companies across sectors turning to public markets to raise capital, provide exits to existing investors and fund expansion plans. Avaada’s proposed offering would add another sizeable issue to an already active IPO pipeline.

Avaada Electro operates in the renewable-energy manufacturing segment and has built a large solar-module production platform. The company currently has around 8.5 GW of operational solar module capacity, according to information cited in the report on its IPO plans.

The company received approval from India’s securities market regulator for its confidential IPO filing in April. It subsequently filed public documents in August, bringing the proposed offering closer to the launch stage.

The roadshows are expected to give institutional investors more information about the company’s business plans, financial performance and prospects before the issue is formally launched. Avaada Electro is also expected to update its draft filing with half-year financial results by the end of October.

The renewable-energy sector has become an increasingly important part of India’s industrial and infrastructure investment landscape. Growing demand for solar power, efforts to expand domestic manufacturing and the country’s broader clean-energy transition have created opportunities for companies involved in modules, equipment and related technologies.

For Avaada Electro, the proposed public issue could provide additional capital for expansion while also giving existing shareholders an opportunity to monetise part of their holdings. The combination of a fresh issue and an offer for sale means the IPO would serve both capital-raising and shareholder-liquidity purposes.

The company is backed by Brookfield, one of the major global investment firms, through its investment in Avaada. The association with an established institutional investor has also placed the proposed listing among the notable renewable-energy offerings being watched by the market.

However, the IPO’s eventual size and launch date remain subject to market conditions and regulatory processes. Companies often adjust the timing or structure of public offerings depending on investor demand, equity market conditions and the financial information available at the time of the final issue.

The broader Indian IPO market has remained active during September. Several mainboard and small and medium enterprise issues were open for subscription during the week, while additional companies prepared to enter the primary market. This has provided investors with a wider range of opportunities but has also increased competition for capital among issuers.

The Avaada offering is particularly significant because it comes from a business operating in renewable energy manufacturing, a segment linked closely with India’s efforts to expand clean-energy capacity and strengthen domestic supply chains.

The company will need to communicate its growth strategy clearly to investors as it moves closer to the public issue. Investors are expected to assess its manufacturing capacity, demand outlook, financial performance, capital requirements and the broader conditions affecting renewable energy equipment producers.

The proposed transaction also reflects the growing interaction between India’s renewable-energy expansion and its capital markets. As clean energy investments require large amounts of long-term capital, public listings can become an additional source of funding alongside institutional investment, debt and strategic partnerships.

Avaada Electro’s roadshow therefore represents more than a step towards a single company’s listing. It comes against the backdrop of a wider effort by Indian businesses to access domestic equity markets to support expansion and allow early investors to realise part of their holdings.

For now, the company is preparing investors for a potential listing before the close of 2026. The final issue structure, valuation and launch schedule will depend on subsequent regulatory steps and market conditions.

The proposed IPO will be closely watched as India’s renewable-energy manufacturing sector continues to attract investment and as the country’s primary market remains an important avenue for companies seeking long-term capital.
