Award-Winning Administrator Ayushi Sudan Begins New Chapter as Samba Deputy Commissioner

SAMBA, Aug 08:  Ayushi Sudan, a native of Jammu and Kashmir and a 2017-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, officially assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Samba on Friday. Her appointment has been welcomed with pride, especially in her home region, where her elevation is seen as a testament to both her dedication and the increasing representation of local officers in key governance positions.

Before taking over as DC Samba, Ayushi Sudan served as the Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara, where she earned wide acclaim for her innovative governance model and people-centric approach. Her work in Kupwara led to her being conferred with the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, one of the most prestigious recognitions for civil servants in India.

In addition to her successful tenure in Kupwara, Sudan has also served as the Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu and Kashmir, where she played a key role in strengthening public health services during critical phases, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With experience spanning across various Union Territories and states under the AGMUT cadre, Ayushi Sudan brings a wealth of administrative acumen and a strong commitment to public service. Her track record in implementing welfare schemes, promoting transparency, and strengthening institutional delivery of services is expected to add new momentum to developmental initiatives in Samba district.

Locals and officials alike have expressed optimism that her leadership will further enhance governance standards in Samba and give impetus to developmental, infrastructural, and social welfare activities in the district.
