Ayodhya to Get World Class Temple Museum: Showcasing Heritage and History

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Greenlights Three Major Tourism Initiatives to Boost Culture, Wellness, and Administrative Efficiency

UP, Dec 02 : The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday approved three key proposals from the state Tourism Department, marking a significant push toward enhancing cultural, wellness, and administrative infrastructure across the state.

The first and most prominent proposal clears the path for a world-class Temple Sanghralaya (Temple Museum) in Ayodhya, spread over 52.102 acres. The project, to be developed with Tata Group support under CSR initiatives, aims to offer visitors an immersive experience into Indian temple architecture, cultural heritage, and Ayodhya’s spiritual legacy. The museum will feature spacious galleries, landscaped areas, curated exhibition halls, and digital interpretation zones, bringing together temple design traditions, ancient construction techniques, sculptures, carvings, and archival material in one cohesive experience.

The second Cabinet-approved initiative is the Uttar Pradesh Adheenasth Paryatan Seva Niyamawali 2025, which establishes defined roles and service rules for Publication Officers, Deputy or District Tourism Officers, and Tourism Information Officers. Officer-level selections will be conducted by UPPSC, while UPSSSC will handle field-level appointments. This move aims to streamline tourism operations and enhance visitor support across the state.

The third approval paves the way for an International Yoga and Wellness Centre in Baghpat, on 70.885 hectares in Hariya Kheda village. The centre will promote yoga, naturopathy, and wellness tourism, attracting both domestic and international visitors while generating local employment and boosting regional economic growth.

State Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh emphasized that the Yogi government is committed to establishing Ayodhya as a global hub of culture and devotion, supported by world-class infrastructure and facilities.
