Balochistan, Nov 18 : A man has allegedly been subjected to enforced disappearance in the Kech district of Balochistan, while another individual missing for several weeks has resurfaced in court custody, according to reports by The Balochistan Post (TBP).
On the night of November 16, Pakistani military forces allegedly raided a residence in Minaz, Bulaida tehsil, and detained Mehran Baloch, son of Haji Akbar. Family members told TBP that security personnel arrived late at night, confined the household to a single room, and took Mehran into custody after allegedly physically assaulting him. His whereabouts remain unknown.
In a separate case, Jahanzeb Baloch, who had been missing for 52 days, was presented before an anti-terrorism court by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). The court remanded him to CTD custody for an additional ten days to facilitate further investigation, TBP reported.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Health Department has launched a swift inquiry into an alleged harassment incident at Bolan Medical College (BMC) in Quetta. The department acknowledged social media claims accusing a faculty member of harassing a female student and issued a formal directive to the college principal on November 13, 2025, calling for an urgent and impartial investigation.
The Health Department instructed the principal to submit a detailed report with recommendations within three days, stressing that the matter is of “serious and urgent” concern, TBP added.
This development comes in the backdrop of a student protest announcement a day earlier, in which learners raised concerns over harassment incidents, inadequate facilities, and the need for a safer academic environment. Students demanded accountability, hostel reforms, and stricter measures against inappropriate conduct.
