Bhagwat Urges RSS to Boost Social Media Presence as Outreach Expands

Organisation’s Expanding Work Needs Wider Digital Outreach and Decentralisation

Nagpur, Mar 19: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday stressed the need for increased engagement on social media platforms, saying the organisation must enhance its digital presence as its activities continue to expand.

Speaking at the centenary event of Marathi daily Tarun Bharat in Nagpur, Bhagwat noted that while social media is widely used, it should be harnessed for constructive purposes. He acknowledged that RSS volunteers and its communication wing are already active online but emphasised the need to scale up efforts.

Highlighting the organisation’s broader mission, he said bringing people together and driving social transformation go hand in hand. According to him, committed volunteers play a key role in carrying forward constructive work that contributes to societal change.

Bhagwat also pointed out that the growing scope of the organisation’s work requires decentralisation to improve efficiency. With rising public expectations and increasing demand for volunteers across sectors, he said smaller operational units are essential.

He further mentioned the need for structured coordination with government and administrative bodies, adding that a dedicated “pradesh-level” mechanism is being set up to facilitate smoother interaction and address challenges.
