Bhalla asks people to follow path shown by great Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj for humanity and equality

Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety

Jammu, 24-02-2024 : 647th Parkash Utsav of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj was celebrated at Gurudwara Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Krishna Nagar Jammu under the chairmanship of Shri Piran Ditta President All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha (Regd) HQ, Krishna Nagar Jammu. Shri Raman Bhalla Ex. Minister and Working President JKPCC was Chief Guest on this occasion and Shri BR Kundal Ex. Minister was guest of honour. Besides Neeraj Kundan CWC Member and NSUI Former President, Rajesh Wazir General Secretary and President Hotel Association BJP Minority Cell Chairmen Ranjot Singh Nalwa, and Latish Sharmh wer also present. Both leaders also paid floral tribute to Guru ji and stressed the need for unity and brotherhood. Several leaders of political parties and social organisations paid visit to the Temple and also attended the function.

Earlier Sangat from all parts of Jammu Province started reaching Gurudwara Krishna Nagar from early morning to seek the blessings of Guru Sahib, along with families. Gurudwara Bhawan was highly decorated by Sabha and Bhajan Kirtan started continuously. Sewadars were alert to their sewa duties in a very disciplined manner.Dharmic Dewan and Shardhanjali Samaroh started at 11 AM with large number of devotees attending the function. Children presented cultural programs and vow to Guru ji with their beautiful dances and bhajans which was highly admired by sangat.Renowned singers from different parts of J&K UT and from Punjab paid their respectful homage to Great Guru Ravidass Ji through their Bhagati Sangeet.

Speaking on this occasion Piran Ditta President threw light on life and mission of Guru Ravi Das Ji and said Guru Sahib ki Pavitar Bani teaches us to stand for truth and to kind to human beings. Today, we have the opportunity on holy birthday of Guru Sahib to spread his pious teachings and be united. He further highlighted that our samaj is duty bound to save the constitution of India given to us by Bharat Rattan Baba Sahib Dr. BR Ambedkar. Any attempt to change the constitution will be fought tooth and nail by All Dalit Samaj of India. Message of equality, and brotherhood will be taken from town to town and this will be real shardhanili to Great Guru Ravi Dass Ji.

Bhalla while greeting the people on this occasion recalled the teachings of the great Guru and asked people to follow the path shown by the great Guru for humanity and equality. He said the teachings of Guru Ravi Dass ji are most relevant even today. The message of the Guru regarding love, peace, equality and respect for all should be followed by every human being. While speaking in the function, Bhalla exhorted the people to inculcate the spirit of selflessness and righteousness as preached by saints and sages, saying fellow feelings hold key to the harmonious growth of society. Paying rich tributes to the great saint and social reformer Guru Ravi Dass Ji on his Jayanti at Krishna Nagar, Bhalla said that the best way of celebrating the occasion is to take a pledge to follow his teachings in letter and spirit and work for building a society based on the natural principles of social justice, equality, compassion, love, and togetherness.

Kundal called for strengthening the bonds of amity and working towards achieving the objective of social empowerment and this will be the biggest tribute to Guru Ravi Dass Ji.He said the teachings of Guruji have inspired the generations and helped in transform the society, making it conducive for various communities, irrespective of cast, creed and colour. Kundal, while remembering Guru Ravidass ji threw light on his teachings and life. He said that Guru ji was against all the evils prevailing in that time. He said that Shree Guru Ravidass was born in Seer Govardhanpur village, Uttar Pradesh in an underprivileged family. An advocate of human rights, Shree Guru Ravidass was a progressive thinker who spread the message of equality through his poems and teachings based on spirituality.

Prominent members of Ravidassia Samaj attended the function and spoke Raj Kumar Raja, Dr. Raj Pal Hans, Mulkh Raj, Romesh Hans, Darshan Rana, Deepak Bangotra, Banarsi Dass Digra, Joginder, Digra, Chaman Lal, Om Parkash, Krishan Sangral President Kabir Colony and Sham Sunder Basson.
