Jammu, February 3: Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS (2004 batch), today took over as the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone. He succeeds Shri Anand Jain, IPS, who has been posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Armed Police.
Upon his arrival at the Zonal Police Headquarters, Shri Tuti was accorded a warm welcome by DIG Shri Shiv Kumar and other senior officers of Jammu district. The outgoing ADGP Shri Anand Jain, briefed him on critical issues related to crime control, counter-terror operations, and law and order management in Jammu province.
Shri Bhim Sen Tuti has held several key positions in the police department, including Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Sopore, SP Leh, SP Kishtwar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of two ranges, and IGP at Police Headquarters. He has also served on deputation in Jharkhand and the Union Territory of Ladakh, gaining extensive experience in handling security and administrative matters.
Following his assumption of office, IGP Jammu chaired an introductory meeting with senior officers, emphasizing the need to address emerging security challenges, crime prevention strategies, and public safety initiatives. He urged officers to maintain high standards of policing and strengthen coordination among various security agencies to ensure peace and stability in the region.
