Mumbai, Jan 8: Fans will have to wait a little longer to catch Akshay Kumar in his latest horror comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’, as the film’s release has been officially postponed to May 15, 2026. The makers announced the new date on social media, sharing fresh posters with the caption: “Bangle se ek khabar aayi hai! The doors open on 15th May 2026. See you in cinemas #BhoothBangla.”
Akshay Kumar Returns to Horror-Comedy
‘Bhooth Bangla’ marks Akshay Kumar’s comeback to the horror-comedy genre and re-teams him with director Priyadarshan after nearly 15 years. Their past collaborations are celebrated for their unique blend of humour and mass appeal, raising expectations for this new venture.
The shoot wrapped up in May 2025, and Akshay shared a fun behind-the-scenes video, dancing in front of a waterfall in casual attire. He called the film his “seventh madcap adventure” with Priyadarshan, praised producer Ektaa Kapoor, and expressed excitement over working with Wamiqa Gabbi for the first time.

The film features an ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi, promising a mix of comedy, scares, and stellar performances.
