PATNA, Aug 9: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday announced a series of measures aimed at improving the quality of school education, strengthening examination systems and expanding the use of technology in classrooms.
The announcements were made during a two day state level workshop organised by the Education Department. The government said the proposed reforms would focus on making education more student centric, transparent and responsive to changing learning needs.
A state-level committee will be established to monitor the quality of education across schools and recommend measures to improve academic standards. The panel will also work towards developing schools as centres of excellence.
A key component of the plan is a review of the existing examination system. The committee will examine ways to make board examinations, competitive tests and classroom assessments more transparent and efficient.
The state government also plans to explore the use of artificial intelligence in student assessment. AI-based tools could be used to evaluate students’ knowledge, understanding and analytical abilities, according to the government’s announcement.
The initiative is part of Bihar’s broader effort to make its education system more technology-driven while ensuring that learning outcomes receive greater attention.
The Chief Minister also announced that students will be able to access online classes until 11 pm from August 15, expanding opportunities for learners to continue their studies beyond regular school hours.
The proposed measures are expected to place greater emphasis on technology, assessment reform and institutional improvement across Bihar’s school education system.
