New Delhi, Sept 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday unveiled its election in-charges for three key states Bihar, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal as political activity intensifies ahead of the assembly polls.
For Bihar, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed election in-charge, with Gujarat BJP chief C R Patil and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya serving as co in charges. The Election Commission is expected to announce the Bihar poll schedule shortly after October 6, following which the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will come into effect.
The EC has directed the Bihar administration to complete all transfer and posting formalities by October 6. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar is likely to visit Bihar to review preparedness before the official announcement of election dates.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched the “Most Backward Justice Manifesto” in Bihar, promising political and social empowerment of backward communities.
In Tamil Nadu, BJP National President JP Nadda appointed Baijayant Panda as election in-charge and Maharashtra minister Muralidhar Mohol as co-incharge. For West Bengal, Bhupendra Yadav has been named election in-charge, with Biplab Kumar Deb as co-incharge.
With these appointments, the BJP has set the stage for aggressive campaigns across all three states, signaling its readiness for high-stakes contests.
