NEW DELHI, Sep 24: Heads of missions and senior diplomatic representatives from eight countries met BJP president Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters here on Thursday as part of the party’s ‘KNOW BJP’ outreach initiative.
The participating countries were Armenia, Egypt, Vietnam, Bhutan, Suriname, the Philippines, Argentina and Tajikistan.
During the interaction, Nabin outlined the BJP’s organisational structure, grassroots network and the role of party workers, or karyakartas, in maintaining regular engagement with citizens.
According to the BJP, Nabin also briefed the diplomats on the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan launched on September 17. The campaign focuses on public service, public participation and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
He highlighted various activities being conducted under the campaign, including blood donation programmes and health camps, the party said.
Nabin also discussed developments in India during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, highlighting areas such as infrastructure, welfare delivery, financial and digital inclusion, entrepreneurship and public healthcare.
He referred to the government’s efforts to reduce poverty and cited Ayushman Bharat as an initiative aimed at expanding access to healthcare, according to the BJP.
The BJP president further spoke about India’s efforts to deepen ties with countries across different regions. He said such partnerships extend beyond government-to-government relations and include people-to-people contacts, businesses, students, diaspora communities, parliamentarians and political parties.
The BJP said the visiting diplomats congratulated Prime Minister Modi on beginning his third consecutive term and welcomed the ‘KNOW BJP’ programme as a platform for learning about the party’s organisation, functioning and grassroots outreach.
BJP MPs Sandeep Pathak and Bansuri Swaraj, along with foreign affairs department in-charge Vijay Chauthaiwale, were also present at the meeting.
