BJP Govt destroyed country’s financial system: Bhalla

Jammu, 20-07-2022:  JKPCC Working President Tuesday slammed the BJP-ruled central government and said it had “completely failed” on all fronts no matter which parameter was used to evaluate its performance. BJP failed to ensure social cohesion, internal security, economic development, international relations, and commitment to institutionalism. The country’s progress retrograded in the eight-year rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has failed on all fronts, said the former Minister while interacting with aggrieved people of Rajiv Nagar on Wednesday. Prominent among those present on the occasion include  Panch Gagan, Harvinder Kour,  Paras Ram,  Master Banbari Baba, Gourav Kumar,  Kala Ram, Kuldeep Singh,  Kamla Devi, Parvat Kishore Kumar, Khadim Hussain, Rakesh Kumar, Bablu Kumar, Polla beside others.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that country is in the grip of an inflationary spiral resulting in a galloping price rise of all essential goods used by the people. This crushing price burden is making life exceedingly difficult for the rural and urban poor. It means less to eat for the poor and lower-middle-class families, cutting out nutritious food for children, and the inability to buy any of the goods necessary for a minimum standard of living. Inflation means loss of livelihood for lakhs of people – street vendors and those surviving by running small businesses. It also hits the small and micro enterprises. The Central government’s policy of steady increase in central taxes on petrol, diesel, and liquefied gas has led to an unprecedented increase in the price of petrol, diesel and cooking gas. Inflation directly hits people who earn wage incomes and have low savings to fall back upon and particularly in regard to food inflation those who are net buyers of food. He pointed out that there was total chaos and confusion among people as BJP leadership has failed to remove peoples’ apprehensions. “On the one hand, there is complete uncertainty in J&K, while on the other hand people are confronted with the failure of the administration to solve day-to-day problems”, he said, adding that most parts of the city are facing a scarcity of basic facilities.

Bhalla said that Since BJP took over in 2014, the miseries of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have increased manifolds. He said that all the promises made to the people prior to the Assembly elections of 2014 remained unfulfilled. Eight years have passed but they have failed to fulfill any of the promises, be it the problems faced by the border residents, be it the problems faced by the farmers, be it the problems of Refugees and Kashmiri Pandits, this government has done nothing to address those problems,” he said. While attacking the NDA government at the centre, Bhalla said that since the change of guard happened in New Delhi, the prices of essential commodities have increased manifold. “The prices of essential commodities have increased and it has become difficult for not only the poor but also the middle class to afford these. The ever-increasing inflation is taking a toll on the common masses of this country,” he said. Bhalla further said that hikes on essentials items have pushed the people to the wall, despite the failure of the Centre Govt to contain the price hike, Prime Minister is making false claims about the development of the country, but the people of the country have realized that the Nation has suffered immensely on every count during nearly seven years rule of BJP Govt. He lashed out at BJP for giving lies and deceit to people rather than fulfilling the promise PM Modi has made to people, as a result, there is a large-scale resentment among the people in the entire Country.

Bhalla accused the BJP government of destroying the financial system of the country. Hitting out at the government, Bhalla alleged that Govt tenure so far period has been marked by misery and misgovernance with high inflation, low employment and communal polarization being the hallmark. He further said that the slogans given by the BJP ahead of 2014 polls are now being assessed by the people of the country as all have proved wrong. “While high prices are upsetting budgets of common people on the one hand, on the other communal fires are flaring and BJP is trying to benefit politically from it,” he said. He said that Congress had been at the forefront to oppose the anti-people policies being imposed on the people through the backdoor by the bureaucrats as there was no elected government in J&K for the past three and half years now. He  said people had no representation or forum to raise their voice against the anti-people policies of the BJP. He said that having failed to give employment to a huge percentage of educated unemployed youth, the Centre and the J&K administration were beating about the bush and finding faults in the past governments.

Alleging that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered the most under the BJP regime, Bhalla asserted that in the run-up to the assembly elections, the Congress will intensify its ideological fight against  BJP and its policies towards the union territory. Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that so far BJP rule has been of “mismanagement, immense despair and agony” and the country today stands at a stage where the common people are suffering from the wounds inflicted by the government whereas Congress has been continuing its efforts to listen to grievances of aggrieved people in various areas of J&K.He said politics of disorientation and false propaganda have become the hallmark of the functioning of the Modi government.”The eighth year of Modi government stands at a stage where the citizens of the country are forced to suffer the countless wounds and ruthless insensitivity inflicted by the government,” he charged. He lashed out at the Central Govt for the unprecedented price hike and record unemployment besides failing to address the grievances of people of J&K on every count after promising massive development post-August 5, 2019.

Bhalla further said, “Development process started by UPA Govt in J&K, received a major setback, as the NDA Govt failed to carry forward the massive developments started by UPA.”He said that people are feeling harassed by ‘tax-terror’ and unprecedented price hike by the Modi Govt. At the same time, they realize that BJP Govt is looting them to recover the losses it has caused to the Country’s economy by misrule and mismanagement of things since day one, as a result, there is restlessness across the country.Hitting hard the BJP and its state leadership for cheating the people of Jammu, he said that the BJP has lost the moral right to go to Jammu people after betrayal after betrayal. Stating that Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has “cheated” people of Jammu, he accused the Union government of reducing the status of people of the region to “fourth-class citizens” even when they voted the party to power in Assembly and Parliamentary polls.

Bhalla criticized the misgovernance of the BJP government due to which the common masses are feeling cheated. He blamed the government for failing to tackle prices and making life difficult for the common man.“There is no doubt that there has been a significant increase in poverty and hunger, he said.He said there is the rule of untruth and injustice in the country. Whoever raises his or her voice has to bear the brunt of the government’s anger, he added.JKPCC Working President observed that governments are elected to ease the burden of people and at the very least, not work directly contrary to their interests. He further said that public grievances are mounting every day but the BJP Government has remained unmoved. He said that public issues and grievances are pilling up with the passage of every day but the Administration has failed to solve the basic issues.
