SUCHETGARH: Taranjit Singh Tony, General Secretary JKPCC, expressed grave concern over the insensitivity of the BJP government towards the genuine demands of farmers.
During the meeting held at border village Suchetgarh in RS Pura today, Tony criticized the government’s prioritization of the interests of rich industrialists over the welfare of poor farmers. He highlighted the stark contrast between the government’s actions, where they readily waived off loans worth Rs 10.80 lakh crores for their affluent industrialist friends, while neglecting the implementation of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the benefit of struggling farmers. He emphasized that this discriminatory approach was indicative of the government’s disregard for the well-being of the agricultural community.
“It is the height of injustice and hypocrisy that the Modi government can waive off exorbitant loans for wealthy industrialists, but fails to prioritize the implementation of MSP to secure fair prices for farmers’ produce,” Tony stated. “This widening gap in the treatment of different sections of society showcases the government’s misplaced priorities and lack of empathy.”
Tony urged the people of the country to reflect upon these actions and consider giving a chance to Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He emphasized that the Congress party, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, is committed to addressing the needs of farmers and working towards their upliftment.
“The time has come for the people of this country to think twice and support a party that truly understands the struggles and challenges faced by the farming community,” Tony asserted. “Rahul Gandhi is committed to implementing sustainable agriculture policies and ensuring the welfare of farmers, which is crucial for the overall development and prosperity of the nation.”
