JAMMU, Feb 3: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs staged a protest inside the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, pressing the government to establish a National Law University (NLU) in Jammu as the Budget Session entered its second day.
The legislators raised slogans and demanded immediate clarity on the proposed NLU’s location, arguing that Jammu has long been deprived of premier educational institutions.
The demonstration follows comments by Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, who yesterday said the BJP would intensify its agitation and collaborate with students to push for the NLU. He added that the demand reflects the aspirations of the region’s youth and legal fraternity.
