BJP pays tribute to social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba phule

 

Jammu, 11 April 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha today paid rich tributes to the great social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his birth anniversary at the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, and recalled his immense contribution towards eradicating social evils and promoting equality in society.

BJP General Secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul, also paid heartfelt tributes to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule at the party headquarters. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Phule ji was a visionary reformer who dedicated his life to uplifting the downtrodden and challenging deep-rooted social discrimination. He added that Phule’s pioneering efforts in the field of education and social justice continue to inspire generations and remain highly relevant in today’s society. Koul emphasized that the BJP remains committed to carrying forward his legacy by working for inclusive growth and empowerment of all sections of society.

BJP State General Secretary Sanjita Dogra, State President OBC Morcha Braham Jyot Satti, along with his team and other prominent leaders, also participated in the programme.

The programme was organised by the BJP OBC Morcha team. Floral tributes were paid to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, and his remarkable social contributions were remembered.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjita Dogra said that Jyotiba Phule dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of the oppressed and weaker sections. She said Phule ji raised his voice fearlessly against social evils such as Sati Pratha and child marriage, and championed the cause of women’s education and rights.

She further stated that Mahatma Phule laid the foundation for social equality by starting schools for girls and the deprived classes at a time when it was considered a taboo. His revolutionary vision changed the mindset of society and opened doors for generations to come.

She said that the BJP Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is working on the same ideals of social justice and empowerment of backward classes. “We are committed to ensuring that every citizen gets equal opportunities to progress in life, just as Phule ji dreamed,” she added.

Braham Jyot Satti highlighted Phule’s role as a pioneer of the movement for social justice. He said that his work laid the foundation of a progressive society where every individual, especially women and deprived classes, could access education and dignity.

He added that Mahatma Phule’s activism was not just limited to speeches — he started several institutions, promoted widow remarriage and worked for farmer rights. “Phule ji taught us that social change comes through action, courage and compassion,” he said.

He emphasized that the younger generation must study the life of Mahatma Phule to understand the true meaning of equality and national development. “His message of removing discrimination and promoting education is more relevant today than ever,” he asserted.

He also expressed gratitude to all the participants and reaffirmed the Morcha’s resolve to follow the path shown by Mahatma Phule. “We must draw inspiration from his mission and continue to work tirelessly for the welfare of OBCs and all marginalized communities,” he added.
