BJP to emerge as single largest party in upcoming polls in J&K: Kavinder

Appeals to 18-year-old youth to register for voting rights
JAMMU, JUL 29: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday emphasized that the BJP is poised to emerge as the single largest party in the impending polls in the Union Territory.
In a statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader reiterated the BJP’s unwavering commitment to good governance, development, and social welfare, which he believes have struck a chord with the citizens of our great nation. He asserted that under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP has consistently worked towards building a New India – an India that is progressive, inclusive, and self-reliant. “Our Party’s focus on development, economic reforms, and social empowerment has resonated with the people of India, and we are confident that this positive sentiment will translate into electoral success,” he added.
Notably, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) PK Pole has initiated the process for conducting Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) elections in Jammu and Kashmir by issuing a notification to revise/update the Municipal Electoral Rolls for all bodies, starting from August 1.
The BJP stalwart asserted that democracy was strengthened in Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted the implementation of the 73rd and 74th amendments, which have bolstered the three-tier democratic structure in the Union Territory. With the devolution of powers among 30,000 elected public representatives, the governance system in Jammu and Kashmir has become more inclusive and representative, empowering local communities and fostering grassroots development, he added.
Kavinder called upon the party cadre to gear up and redouble their efforts for upcoming ULB and Panchayat polls in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in connecting with the electorate, spreading the party’s message of progress and development, and highlighting its accomplishments in governance.
“We firmly believe that our ideology, rooted in nationalism, social justice, and the welfare of every Indian, will continue to inspire the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Our commitment to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ (Together with all, development for all, trust of all) remains steadfast, and we are eager to win the trust of the people once again,” he added.
The former deputy Chief Minister urged the party cadre to uphold the principles of democracy and work with dedication to earn the mandate of the people. He exuded confidence in the BJP’s prospects and assured the party workers that the Party will leave no stone unturned to achieve victory in the upcoming polls in the Union Territory. He called for unity and solidarity among party workers, reinforcing that together, they will write the next chapter of J&K’s progress.
The senior BJP leader made a heartfelt appeal to the youth who have reached the age of 18 to actively participate in the democratic process by registering themselves for voting. Recognizing the pivotal role that the youth play in shaping J&K’s future, he encouraged them to exercise their right to vote and be a part of the decision-making process. By engaging the young minds, he emphasized that they could contribute significantly to J&K’s progress and bring about positive change through their active participation in the electoral process.
