Ramgarh,13-06-2023: Under Jan Sampark Program NC Senior Leader and Former IPS, DIG Ashok Attri interacted with women of Ramgarh block. The women, while interacting, said that it is becoming difficult to run the house due to the inflation given by the BJP. Women said that voting for BJP was their biggest mistake. BJP has only given inflation, it is also becoming difficult to run the house. Women don’t even have any work to run the house.
After listening to the women, NC leader Ashok Atri said that people are already struggling with inflation due to the exorbitant increase in the prices of food items. Consumers now have to pay around Rs 1100 for getting the cylinder refilled. In such a situation, the consumption of gas is becoming a tedious task. Rising inflation is taking a heavy toll on poor and middle-class families.
The women who handle the kitchen are worried due to the ever-increasing inflation and rising prices of cooking gas. A small family consumes one cylinder per month and a large family consumes two cylinders per month. Along with cylinders, the prices of edible oil, grocery items, pulses, spices, vegetables, and other essential commodities are skyrocketing. In such a situation, it is natural for the budget of the kitchen to deteriorate. Housewives told that instead of reducing the price of gas, the government is continuously increasing it. In such a situation, it is becoming difficult to meet the expenses of the family. Ashok Atri said that the central government had given free gas connections to rural women under the Ujjwala Yojana to get rid of the smoke from the stove. Now rising gas prices are taking a toll on this plan. Due to inflation, rural women are forced to leave the gas stove and go back to cooking on the wood stove.
A subsidy of Rs 147 was available for cooking gas from the central government, but since May 2020 till now, the subsidy is closed. In May 2020, a cylinder without subsidy was available for Rs 583, which has now become around Rs 1100. NC leader Ashok Atri said that the BJP administration should give relief to the people. Ashok Atri said that with the way BJP is persecuting the people, the day is not far when people will not allow BJP leaders to enter the village.
