Rs 18,000 annually to elderly women will empower families effectively
JAMMU,06-09-2024: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Friday said that manifesto released by Home Minister Amit Shah is reflection of the party’s commitment towards welfare of the masses with special emphasis on the vulnerable sections and women folks.
In a statement issued in this regard, the BJP stalwart leader said that the BJP manifesto for Assembly elections promises transformative measures aimed at enhancing the lives of the people in the Union Territory. He described the manifesto as a ‘visionary document’ that prioritizes the needs of the people and is a testament to the party’s unwavering commitment to public welfare. “One of the key promises in the manifesto is the provision of Rs. 18,000 annually to elder women in every household under Maa Samman Yojana, a policy that is expected to be a game-changer for the region’s socio-economic conditions as this will empower families and uplift the status of women,” he said adding that the move will provide financial security and independence to a segment of society that has long been neglected.
He said that the party manifesto outlines the tripling of pensions for widows, specially-abled, and the elderly, demonstrating the party’s empathetic approach to the most vulnerable sections of society. “The manifesto also promises a monthly stipend of Rs. 3,000 for college students and laptops to students of remote hamlets to help them achieve their educational goals”, he stated while highlighting that farmers will get additional Rs 4000 under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to help them live a life with dignity and pride. He said that the manifesto is a 25-point vision document with the promise of eliminating terrorism fully, developing Tawi River Front on the line of Sabarmati River Front, water sports at Dal lake and making Gulmarg and Pahalgam modern tourist sites. “Another public welfare initiative vowed in the manifesto is providing additional Rs 2 lakh under Ayushman Bharat Scheme, giving succor to the common man fighting with diseases”, he said and added that people should decide by themselves that there is no other party in fray which can ensure upliftment of unprivileged and steer J&K to era of peace and prosperity like the BJP thus making it necessary to support saffron party in the elections and opt for better future of all residing in J&K.
