South Africa, Oct 07 : South Africa’s opening batter Tazmin Brits surged to a career high fourth place in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings after scoring a brilliant 101 in the Proteas’ six-wicket victory over New Zealand at the Women’s World Cup on Monday. This marks her fifth century of the year, setting a record for the most three figure scores by a woman cricketer in a single calendar year.
Australia’s Ash Gardner also achieved a career best ranking, climbing seven spots to fifth place with 697 rating points, following her explosive 115-run innings off 83 balls in Australia’s 89 run win over New Zealand. Gardner’s previous best ranking was 10th, attained in January 2025.
New Zealand captain Sophie Devine moved up seven places to equal her career best eighth position in the rankings after scoring 112 and 85 in losses against Australia and South Africa. Pakistan opener Sidra Amin achieved a personal best, entering the top 10 for the first time after scoring 81 against India, climbing three spots to 10th. India’s Deepti Sharma rose to 17th place following consistent performances against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
In bowling, South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp climbed to fifth in the ICC Women’s ODI Bowling Rankings, while teammate Nonkululeko Mlaba jumped six places to reach a career-high 13th position after taking four wickets against New Zealand. Australia’s Alana King moved from eighth to seventh, and Annabel Sutherland achieved a career best 14th position, just 19 points behind Mlaba.
The latest rankings highlight the standout performances in the Women’s World Cup, with centuries and match-winning contributions reshaping the global ODI leaderboard.
