JAMMU, Mar 30: Two members of the Border Security Force sustained injuries following an alleged assault by local residents in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir during the early hours of Monday, officials reported.
The incident took place around 1:30 am in Gujjar Basti Dwarkapuri, located in the Supwal belt, when the personnel an inspector and a sub-inspector were conducting an inquiry in the area. During the visit, a group of locals reportedly confronted and attacked them, resulting in injuries.
Both officials were promptly shifted to a nearby healthcare facility, where they are currently receiving treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the sequence of events and the motive behind the attack, which remains unclear at this stage. Police teams have stepped up security arrangements in the locality and are working to identify and apprehend those involved in the incident.
