Jammu, 24 November: The CBI investigating the Roshni Act land scam has made another major disclosure. Former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who implemented the Act, has also built the Alishan Bungalow in Sujwan at a cost of crores by occupying the government land of the Forest Department. His sister Suraiya Mattu has also taken advantage of the Roshni Act by owning 3 Kanal 12 Marle Bhumi. In order to get the land in his name under this act, he had to deposit one crore rupees in the government treasury but till date has not been deposited.
Under this Roshni Act, every day CBI is disclosing the land scams by big leaders, bureaucrats, their families, and relatives. It is clear from these reports that political parties implementing government schemes tend to give more priority to their profits by citing common people. Dr. Farooq Abdullah implemented this act in the year 2001 citing poor farmers of Jammu and Kashmir. It was said in this act that the government land on which farmers have been cultivating for many years, they can get it done in their names.
Now the CBI investigation is revealing that the National Congress, PDP, big leaders of Congress, businessmen, businessmen, and bureaucracy including Dr. Farooq Abdullah earned assets worth crores of rupees in the name of this act. In this flowing Ganga, other political parties also chose to wash their hands rather than expose the scam. Everyone took advantage of this scheme of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and deposited thousands of rupees and got government land worth crores of rupees in the name of himself and his relatives.
CBI investigation is yet to be revealed. From the revelations that have been made in the investigation so far, it seems that apart from grabbing government land worth crores of rupees, the main objective of this scheme was also to change the demographic situation in Jammu, which has been changed in a very good way. The High Court has canceled the allotment under this Act and submitted its investigation to the CBI. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has instructed the beneficiaries to vacate the land within 6 months by canceling all the allocations made under this act. The administration has started the process of evacuating the land grabbed under this Act in all districts. (H.C.)
